February Tarpon on Fly! The Fishing Report. Feb. 15, 2004Tarpon, Permit and Bonefish made an appearance this past week while the weather was warm and sunny. Lewis Eagle of Orange, Connecticut landed two Tarpon estimated to be around 80-90 pounds during one morning of fishing. Here is Lewis with one of them. Lewis also had a 15 pound Permit to the boat before the Great Pompano threw the hook. The weather has begun to deteriorate into a morass of blinding rain, lightning and seafoam as the West to Northwest winds of a cold front sweep through the Keys. Our next stretch of mild weather and improved fishing should start around next weekend the 21st of February. Our Father (Mother) - Son (Daughter) Key West Flats Fishing Trips are now scheduled for throughout the summer, fall and winter.
