Bonefish and Tarpon Doubles April 10, 2006. Bill Sytsma, an angling friend, a Bonefisherman. I have fished with a lot of anglers during my time who have caught their first Bonefish with me aboard FlatsMaster. Perhaps none were as satisfying as the catch by Bill on a blustery March day. I can sum it up in a quote from Roderick Haig-Brown (1960) “It is just possible that nice guys don’t catch the most fish. But they find far more pleasure in those they do get.”There are many avid anglers who are chomping at the bit for Tarpon Season to bust loose. During late February and March, we have had some warm spells that have produced some exciting Tarpon action. Here, is a fish fought and landed by Martin Bauknight Here is a baby Tarpon fought and landed by Gordon CulpepperWayne Bauknight jumped a large Tarpon like this one. For those anglers who want some Tarpon season dates, there are still a few dates left in April, May and June to battle the Silver King Tarpon on the long rod. Contact Capt.
