Summer brings Grand Slam Fly Fishing Aug.11, 2006. This Summer has seen an extension of some very good to excellent TARPON fishing, and the PERMIT and BONEFISH have been plentiful too! On one particular trip with Stewart Andersen of Scotland, we encountered many Tarpon in the Marquesas over a 4 day period. Stewart hooked up often, and we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful flats west of Key West.On a recent day on the flats east of Key West, Capt. Dexter did some exploring into the "nether backcountry" searching for Bonefish and Permit tucked up inside flats that are rarely fished except on high spring tides. Capt. Dexter had some great fishing for Bonefish, but a few of them were eaten by aggressive sharks! There were plenty of Permit to cast to as well. Contact Capt. Dexter Simmons by casting your net line to http://www.keywestflyfishing.com or by email to [email protected]. Happy Fishing! Our Father (Mother) - Son (Daughter) Key West Flats Fishing Trips are now scheduled for throughout the summer, fall, winter, and spring.
