Fall Grand Slam Season is here! The Fishing Report. Sept.17, 2006. When the cooler air begins to creep down the island chain in late September and October, the Tarpon, Permit, and Bonefish turn on. The mid-day and afternoon fishing stay consistent with the morning bite, because the water temps stay in the mid 80's. Early morning is always best for Tarpon, and once the silver king is landed, then our focus shifts to the Bonefish and Permit action. Catching a grand slam on fly is not easy, but can be accomplished with skill and some good fortune. So make your reservations now for some outstanding fall flats fishing here in the fabulous Florida Keys! When you are ready to book a charter or just talk fishing, contact Capt.
