Tarpon Despite Wind, Rain! The Fishing Report. May 28, 2007. I recently had a great couple of days Tarpon fishing with Matt Reno of San Diego, despite the windy, rainy weather. Matt leadered a 100+ pound Tarpon taken with a "Black Death" on the flats. Particularly exciting was the "on the run eat" by the Silver King. Matt made a pinpoint cast to the string of 20 Tarpon as they swam east along the flat in about 5 feet of water. Here are a few action photos. Matt deserves kudos for his intensity in learning the tarpon fly presentation game quickly, and then fighting the fish to win. All anglers in the Keys are praying for the winds to lay down so the Tarpon will resume their migration into the Keys waters. When you are ready to book a charter or just talk fishing, contact Capt.
