Tarpon Season Dedication The Fishing Report. June 13, 2007. Tarpon Season pales in importance compared with the health of Family members. Recently, my older brother was stricken with a liver and kidney disorder that took his life. My mother was also hospitalized with lung disease. Fishing takes a back seat to times like these. Nevertheless, after a few weeks of inactivity, I am back on the flats pursuing the silver king. I will dedicate the rest of the season to the memory of my brother and to helping my mother regain her strength. Here is a recent set of photos taken while Tarpon fishing with Matt Reno of San Diego. Matt deserves kudos for his intensity in learning the tarpon fly presentation game quickly, and then fighting the fish to win. All anglers in the Keys are now happy that the winds have laid down so the Tarpon will resume their migration into the Keys waters. When you are ready to book a charter or just talk fishing, contact Capt.
