Permit, Tarpon, Bonefish all available today! February 7, 2008. Permit have begun to show on the backcountry flats of the Keys. With warm weather this February and March, we should be in store for some outstanding Permit fishing. Today we found Bonefish and Tarpon as well as Permit. The water temps sky rocketed into the upper 70's with a South wind on hand. But as the wind diminished into flat calm, the fish became extremely spooky and scarce. Permit are available on both the Atlantic and Gulf flats as are Bonefish and resident Tarpon are in the creeks and channels. Permit and Bonefish are on the flats and ready to feed! Here is a fall season tailing Bonefish. We are also catching Barracuda, Shark, Mutton Snapper, Sea Trout, Pompano, Ladyfish, Jack Crevalle, and Cero Mackerel.
