Tarpon Stacked in Deep Water Reefs A few April cold fronts have battened down the hatches here in the Keys the past few days. However, with a warming trend, the fish will be back on the flats with a vengeance. The Tarpon are stacked up in deep water waiting for the warmer weather. Schools of large hammerhead sharks have been spotted near the reef, following the schools of Tarpon. When the water temps hit 78 degrees again the push into the flats should renew. Tarpon, Bonefish and Permit are on the angling menu again this week as the water temperatures are in the mid 70's to low 80's on both sides of the Keys providing action for the big three grand slam species as well as Barracuda, Shark, Jack Crevalle, Cobia, and Mutton Snapper. April is always great for the tail end of the Permit push, the beginning of the Tarpon migration, and hot Bonefishing.Before you travel to the Keys, call Capt.
