Tarpon Weather Forecast The Tarpon fishing in April has been "under the weather" this season. When the weather is good, then the fresh fish have moved in from the deep Atlantic and Gulf providing some great action on the flats and in the channels and basins. Unfortunately, it has seldom been nice weather lately. Hopefully, the winds will subside soon and the fishing will improve. In the meantime, tie up those flys and get those leaders ready! Tarpon, Bonefish and Permit are on the angling menu again this week as the water temperatures are in the mid 70's to low 80's on both sides of the Keys providing action for the big three grand slam species as well as Barracuda, Shark, Jack Crevalle, Cobia, and Mutton Snapper. April is always great for the tail end of the Permit push, the beginning of the Tarpon migration, and hot Bonefishing. Before you travel to the Keys, call Capt. Dexter Simmons for a live report 305-745-3304. Tight Lines and Screaming Reels!
