The Tarpon fishing here in the lower keys and Key West has been good on certain days and tides. Tarpon have been migrating in large and small groups through the back country and ocean. These large fish can be very challenging to get to eat a fly. When it happens there's no doubt that they have taken it as they leap several feet out of the water to shake the fly and take your backing off the reel. For the spin fishing enthusiast these tarpon have also been eating live baits, plugs, and jigs. Permit have also been seen and caught on the flats on the right tides in the 10-15 lb. Range. We have been seeing some bonefish around as well. The black tip and lemon sharks, jacks, and baracudas have provided some family fun fishing for some of my father/daughter and father/ son trips who just wanted some rod bending action. Give us a call today to book your back country and flats fishing adventure. Captain Steve Hancock
