Tarpon Angling Key West

Glad to report that April has passed on and hopefully the crappy weather too. Wow, what a long stretch of wind and tough fishing conditions we have had in Key West this spring. On a brighter note I am happy to report the back country tarpon fishing has been getting better. The fish seems to be happy that the winds have calmed a bit the last few days. It's not been easy, however, we've been feeding some tarpon a variety of flies or artificial baits. The bonefish have been quite consistent on the flats. I have opted for skinny water bonefishing on those higher wind days which makes looking for laid up tarpon almost impossible. The permit for the most part have pushed offshore to spawn. That being said, I've had some decent shots a tailing permit this week. {%image_id=53794%} May is here so cheers to many days and nights filled with tarpon jumping fun! Capt.
