Breezy weather this week has put a damper on offshore blue water fishing and most captains heading out this week opted for the somewhat calmer waters of Florida Bay. Some nice large King Mackerel were being found out there up to 50+lb with some Spanish Mackerel mixed in out on wrecks that were at least 12 miles from shore. Some decent Cobia have also been hitting the docks up to 35lb along with Mangrove Snapper, Tripletail, Bluefish, Trout, Redfish, and plenty of Shark and Goliath grouper action with some over 200lb!! So when the wind blows you can still get out on the water here in south FL and enjoy some fantastic fishing without taking a butt whipping out in the larger Atlantic ocean seas. Those who did venture out in the rougher waters of the Atlantic this week were finding a few Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Sailfish, and the occasional Wahoo. A few Tarpon have been showing up at Keys bridges in the area and some have been caught and released up to 60lb at Vaca cut.
