Fishing these past weeks has been excellent. We are starting to see much improved snook activity around Marco Island. With redfish in the mix and plenty of straggler tarpon, anything is possible. I have been throwing mainly live bait with a few fly fishing trips mixed in these past few weeks. My clients have been catching snook in the south Marco area. Some of these fish have been big. We have caught quite a few that will go over ten pounds. We have also been outclassed on light tackle by fish that may push twenty pounds. It's hard to tell because…..they got away. I have also been catching a few redfish with some of them being over the slot limit. Trout seem to be all over the place. All of these fish seem to vary where you will catch them. You will pick off a few here and there while some of my spots are void. Then you might slam them in the next spot. I have been doing a lot of hustling but have been producing some very nice catches. There are still quite a few tarpon in the 40 to 100 pound class around. I have been getting good bites offshore as well as a few hotspots in the 10,000 Islands. All in all, the fishing has been very good especially when you consider the beating the fish took from the freeze this winter. I'll see you on the water THERE IS NO OIL HERE EITHER. BRING IT!

Tight Lines,
