Excellent weather and fishing in South Florida over the last few days. We've had some of the best spanish mackeral fishing. Anchoring in 20-40 feet of water and fishing with live pilchards has been the ticket. Once they show up in the chum, it's game on. We cast 12 pound test spinning tackle with a small spoon and almost every cast gets a strike. We also caught 4 sailfish on the same tackle over the last week. The sails come up behind the boat and eat the bait intended for the mackeral. A real challange to catch one from an anchored boat on 12 pound test. The evening tarpon fishing has also been awesome. Catching fish on live shrimp atround the inlet. They've been ranging from 30-60 pounds. Once again warm weather and great fishing. Tight Lines, Capt Dennis Forgione
