Fishing Report for Miami, Florida
Miami, florida

April 24, 2003
10 year old Matt Bertruch, from New York, fished with his dad and grandpa yesterday. They were red hot. We were live baiting with the kite in 90 to 200 feet of water. Matt caught a 20 pound barracuda to start things off. Shortly after that he got a 22 pound bull dolphin. Things just kept rolling along from there. We quit fishing an hour early, because the gang ran out of arm power. They caught 4 out of 5 sailfish, 4 dolphin ( 6, 15, 18 and 22 pounds), the big barracuda, 2 twelve pound king mackerel and 2 twenty seven pound blackfin tunas. Matt caught 3 of the dolphin, a king and brought 2 of the sailfish to the boat. We were off Key Biscayne in clear blue water with a very light north current. Other boats reported similar catches as well as some cobia. Tarpon fishing is fairly good at Government Cut.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Bouncer Smith
