On my last report I mentioned the variety of fish available in South Florida right now. Well, nothing has changed. Over the last week or two the sailfish bite has remained consisted with multiple shots at fish almost every day. The best part of fishing for sails is all of the other species that also eat the kite baits. Some of the other fish that have been swimming through our waters are blackfin tuna, large dolphin (mahi mahi), kingfish, and others as well. We are experiencing a real good dolphin run right now. The reason why it's been so good is not the numbers but the size of these fish. Most of the fish are gaffers and others have been in the 30#-50# range. Another great thing about these fish is that they are being found in relatively shallow water without the need to run far offshore. If you've been thinking about getting out, now is the time. We still have a few weeks of good fishing before we switch gears into the summer patterns. I still have several open days in May and a couple of weekend days. I'll be fishing a couple of dolphin tournaments this month and look forward to reporting on those. Give me a call if you're ready to go or just have a couple of questions. Tight Lines, Capt.
