Joseph, Jarred, and Mitchell joined me on the water for some quality family time. Joseph, the father, wanted to catch his first ever sail. Bait was a little difficult but we managed to catch several dozen herring. We started our first drift of the day in front of the condos between Fisher Island and the hotels in about 150’ of water. After Jarred picked out a lucky herring I put it on the stern flat line. Not thirty seconds later up comes a sailfish gray hounding towards the horizon. After fighting the fish in conjunction with his sons Joseph got his first sail. The very next drift Jarred has the honors of picking out another lucky herring. Wouldn’t you know it we are into our second sail on our second drift. I offered jarred a job as a mate but he mentioned something about elementary school in Clearwater. Unfortunately sea sickness got the best of Joseph and his son and they wanted to call it a day. And so the day ended 2/2 on the sails with about an 1 and 45 min fishing time. If you enjoy catching sailfish or have never caught one give me a call. The sailfish season is quickly coming to an end. That fish of a lifetime is waiting to be caught. Best of Luck… Capt.
