North Biscayne Bay Fishing Report

Fishing North Biscayne Bay with Capt. Alan Sherman 5/05/04 Will the wind ever stop? Now that is the question! May already and I’m sure we are all ready to do some serious fishing if the wind will just give us a break. For all you guys out there that wish you could be guiding for a living just think what it’s like fishing in 15 to 25 knot winds 7 days a week for weeks on end. Not a lot of fun. Well the good news is that the wind will eventually let up, as we get closer to June. Even though the winds have been non stop there are fish to be caught. Speckled sea Trout have spawned out and scattered but can still be caught in good numbers and size as long as you don’t give up trying. Mixed in with the Trout have been small Jack Crevalles, Ladyfish, Spanish Mackerel and a few Mangrove Snappers. I have seen some nice size Snook in some of the canals recently but have not had any luck getting a fish to take a bait. There have been some recent Shrimp runs at night and small Tarpon and Snook have been feeding on them around the Inlets. One of my guys the other afternoon caught and released over 30 Ladyfish on live Shrimp and Hook Up Lures tipped with a strip of FishBites.
