Record Lows are Devasting Our Fish Populations

I like most South Florida Fishermen I'm sure are Jonsing to get out on the water. Just today we had maybe an hour or two were being on the water might have been comfortable but as the sun gets lower the temperatures are dropping again. By Wednesday temperatures should return to the 60's and then 70's on Thursday. I had the opportunity to get a look at North Bay today and although I did not see any fish floating I did see more birds on the water or in the air and I think they have been feeding on many of the stunned or dead fish in the Bay. I have heard reports of dead or dying snook up and down the coast and on the Gulf side too. Baitfish, bonefish, snappers, sharks, tarpon, ladyfish and mullet dead or dying. Its a sad thing but this has happened countless times over the course of history. The fish always seem to rebound! Before the most recent blast of cold air water temperatures were in the low 60's in North Bay and low 70's offshore of Miami. Bay fishing was dead but kingfish in the 10 pound range were feeding on live baits like they knew they wouldn't have a meal for a few days. {%image_id=13600%} {%image_id=13598%} {%image_id=13599%} Look for the ocean fishing to be the best after tomorrow and for the bay fishing to slowly come back.
