South Florida Holiday Season!

The winds have been blowing in sunny South Florida and the weather is shaping up for the Holidays. Mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures have led us to some very good fishing in North & South Biscayne, Offshore of Miami and in Flamingo. North Bay has produced some great daytime snook action with a few small tarpon to add to the fun. Sea trout are scattered throughout the Bay and finding them is as easy as casting a ¼ ounce Hookup lure tipped with a Gulp bait around the grass flats. Baitfishes have been scattered around the Bay and at times easy to catch. Associated with the baitfish schools have been a few Spanish mackerel, bluefish, juvenile kingfish, jacks, bluerunners and a few other fish species. We have had a few groupers in North Bay as well. The nice thing about North Bay is that there are always calm protected areas we can fish and catch fish when the winds are up. {%image_id=41231%}{%image_id=41229%} South Bay is producing catches of small to medium size mutton, mangrove, lane and yellowtail snappers. Add to that list small red and black groupers and some larger gag groupers, porgies, jacks, bluerunners, mackerel, bluefish and an occasional pompano and you have the makings of an interesting bottom fishing trip. Offshore and Patch Reef fishing has been hampered by the winds. The fish are there and we will get them when the winds lay down. Flamingo in Everglades National Park has been spectacular. All of the migrating birds are here now and as you look across the shallow waters of Florida Bay it is impossible not to be amazed at how beautiful a place this is. With water levels lower this time of year the huge amounts of colorful wading birds surround you throughout the day. The fishing has been outstanding with redfish, snook, black drum, sheepshead, sea tout, snapper, grouper, cobias, mackerel, bluefish, pompano, tripletail, jacks and ladyfish all available out of the marina at Flamingo. Manatees, sea turtles, bottlenose dolphins, alligators and crocodiles are always an added feature to view while on the water in Flamingo. Just an hour's drive from Florida City where refurbished hotels are available if you prefer to shorten your driving time Flamingo should be on everyone's Bucket List! The Holidays are fast approaching and there is still plenty of time to purchase a gift certificate as a Holiday gift for someone you love, a friend, working associate or for yourself. {%image_id=41232%}{%image_id=41230%} GET EM SPORTFISHING CHARTERS I have open dates and the fishing will continue to be good for some time.
