The water clarity in the Mosquito Lagoon and north Indian River Lagoon is extremely cloudy making sight fishing almost non-existent. Most of the flats have little to no redfish on them. The trout fishing in the central and southern portions of the Lagoon has been extremely slow as well. Combine that with the lack of ladyfish, jacks, and tarpon and the fishing can be challenging. Until the water levels subside and clears, this pattern is likely to continue. There are some schools of large redfish roaming around but they are heavily pressured by multiple boats on a daily basis. The best bet right now is to fish the deeper edges of sand bars with live mullet or pinfish.

Tight Lines,
