It has been a little windy out there but the fish have been turning on ahead of them. Jim and I witnessed hundreds of tails waiving franticly chewing the bottom of the flat up like a hoover wired to 220v. The day after the front they were a lot less aggressive but we still managed to catch a few. Finger mullet and pilchards line the banks of the Mosquito Lagoon and reds, trout, jacks and ladyfish will not be far behind. I saw some big tarpon rolling in the river last week but this week the wind kept things chopped up making it hard to see much. The reds are moving through and out the inlet and they can be taken on finger mullet on the bottom or jigging a pearl and green back 4” 12 Fathom jig. Toss towards the rocks and work your jig of the ledge. Tip your jig with a piece of shrimp if your bites do not come easy. For catching charters call toll free 877GO FLATS. Remember: Think like a fish to catch fish.

Tight Lines,

Capt. Joe Porcelli
