This has been a good week and the fishing has been up and down. The hurricane is past and the wind should be a lot calmer this week than last. The trout have moved a little deeper and the reds have been moving due to the water level increase. Cover a lot of ground and look for the schools of mullet. You should find plenty of action in the mullet schools. I like throwing plastics but a finger mullet free lined has been bringing good results. The fish were a little reluctant to eat the plastics the other day but a well placed shrimp will do the trick. One more time a WELL PLACED shrimp will get you that redfish bite. The pin and pigfish are in great numbers so when you place a shrimp well in front of your cruising redfish the bait fish jump on it immediately. That is ok because the red will not resist stealing a meal from the pinfish. Plus the shrimp sent will disburse when the baitfish starts to gnaw. The wind this week has made it a little difficult to make those perfect cast but practice makes perfect. Ladyfish are still around and make a good air show when you least expect them. You can also find a few jacks in the channel and some snook around the docks.

Tight Lines,

Capt. Joe Porcelli
