Naples and marco Fishing Report February/March Well, what can I say that everyone does not already know. The weather is just plain dismal. The fishing isn't bad it just is not very typical for this time of the year. We are at the end of February and the beginning of March and it hasn't warmed one little bit. Water temps are staying between 55 and 60 degrees and the fish are sitting on the bottom trying to survive. In between weather I was able to get out a few days in February and The Trout fishing was excellent along with the ladyfish. Catching anything else was a struggle. We were able to catch a few Reds in the Creeks on Jigs and Shrimp and even found a couple on Fly when I could talk one of my fly fisherman to actually fish. Lets hope it gets better soon. I always like the change to cold weather when it happens and you get to change your fishing style but this is getting a little ridiculous. Along with the Trout and Ladyfish we have found a few Pompano and even a couple of permit mixed in. They are getting more scattered and now not a surety by any stretch of the imagination. In fact the last two trips I did not have one on. I believe it will get better if that water temp ticks up into the mid 60's.
