The canal systems and creeks along the western fringes of the Everglades has been producing quality fish. We've caught numerous snook on fly in the 28-30" range casting along the deep rocky ledges of the canals. Many of these fish have been laid up as well on the limestone ledges in a few feet of water. We've been sight casting and blind casting to the snook with white rabbit strip flies, tarpon toads, and small baitfish patterns. We've been catching juvenile tarpon and larger poons in the 30-50 lb range on the same patterns used for the snook fishing the intersections of the canals where there is good tidal flow. {%image_id=30137%} {%image_id=30141%} {%image_id=30138%} {%image_id=30139%} {%image_id=30140%}
