Fishing Everyday

I try to leave a report at least once a week or so but just have not had the time with fishing everyday so I will try to give a report for the month instead.March was exactly what we needed to get the kings in collier county and for the last two weeks we have been catching as many as our customers can handle.On several trips we were releasing as many as 70 kingfish on 20 pd spin tackle.The bite is as good as it gets right now.Also in the mix are some hefty bull and spinner sharks feeding on the kings.The cobias began their migration through the area on the full moon as expected with us catching a double on 20 pd spin,one 54pds and the other 48pds.Also of note we caught an amberjack that was tagged off of tampa in 2008 and was 24" when tagged,the fish was 48" and 43pds when he made it to the box.Thats an incredible growth rate of 24" in two years.On Mon. at the end of the trip after catching a mixed bag of ajs,kings and snappers I decided to try a red grouper spot to see if they were ready for opening day not to be dissapointed we caught 4 keeper reds on one drop.
