Hit The Creeks!

The first cold fronts that hit in the early fall start cooling the water temperature. This usually gets the fish in a feeding mode. These fronts are usually mild and don't drop the air temperature much. Baitfish start moving back into the backs of the creeks as the water cools. The fish will follow them and you'll see schooling activity. This time of year fish stack up in deeper holes in the mouths of creeks particularly those that are more narrow with deep holes. Fishing at a low tide proves successful as fish are concentrated in these deeper pockets. Using a weighted jig head and plastic shrimp in these areas is deadly as jigging stirs up the mud and gets the attention of a redfish waiting to ambush. {%image_id=23684%} {%image_id=23683%} {%image_id=23682%}
