Fishing in the Month of May has been very good at times and troubling at times also. All in all it has been very good. Most of May we were still catching good numbers of Trout and Pompano for the customers that want a fish dinner. Good Mangrove Snapper fishing with limits just about every trip. The Docks in Marco and Naples have been the best. Now for the fish you cannot keep. Snook and Tarpon fishing has been very good especially near the passes and on all the Rock Rip Rap and points leading to the passes. This has been the norm all up and down the coast from Bonita to Coon Key Pass. Tarpon have been a little bit tricky. Seems to be plenty showing up on the outside but getting them to bite has been a little troubling. It seems every school I find has its own little quirks. All in all if you work long enough your bite will come. I have been doing well on live bait laying it out in front and keeping a crab on the back rod in the water. The best Fly has been either a Calico or Black and purple Rz Bunny Deceiver. If you would like some you need to contact [email protected] or check out the store at www.indianpassoutfitters.com. Snook have been hitting on Rz's HJB or Todd's Wiggle Minnows fished slow. The lights have been Awesome to say the least especially over the last full moon. Not many Tarpon but the Snook fishing has been much better than expected. Capri has been especially good and we are getting some big fish there too. Gummy flies and small baitfish and shrimp patterns have been killas. Bass fishing in the glades has been excellent also. Out at interceptor we have been catching over 50 per day and the average has been around two pounds with some reaching seven. Poppers and Muddlers for the Fly aficionado and Worms and small crank baits for the plug guys.
