March has been another Cold Month but it seems it has come to an end. Well I hope it is ending. Fished another cool morning yesterday and it looks like another small front coming today. We need some warm, and things will be alright in the fishing world. It won't be perfect not this year but it will be alright. March kept us cold and bundled for most of it. Relegated to catching Trout a few Redfish and Sheepshead. The only bright spot for my fly fisherman was our night trips for Snook. Water temps were still not the normal 75 to 80 degrees but they were warm enough to catch some nice fish at night. There is certainly not as many as before but there were enough to get some nice fish and to catch 12 to 20 per night. A few Trout and some Big lady fish always rounded out the evenings. We even hooked a couple of small Tarpon. Backcountry fly fishing was a bit dismal. We caught fish but it was a struggle. It sure will be nice to pull away from the winter like conditions and get serious about fishing next month.
