First things first, I hope all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and food and fun and family was plentiful and joyful. Now what everyone wants to know about, Fishing. The last two weeks of November was red hot and not just the weather. Warm weather and warm Gulf Temps let us catch some great fish the last couple of weeks, including False Albacore, Snook, Tarpon, and even some late season Peacock Bass on the freshwater scene. Unfortunately December looks like things might slow up a little with a nasty little front that passed through. If it stays cool fishing will cool a little. If we have a warm comeback then December should follow about the same as November. The last couple of weeks of November were just about a blur for me. So many species to catch and so little time to do it in. Fly fishing for False Albacore or another name is Little Tunney, was a blast. We caught them on small Gummy Minnows on eight and nine weight Fly Rods. Great fun on the long rod. They also blasted artificial in the may lay schools, that were right off the beaches. Snook fishing was excellent also. Found fish in all the usual places along with some way in the back country of the Everglades. Small Tarpon were hit and miss in the creeks and even out front. Night fishing for both Snook and Tarpon was excellent in The Marco River and around Isle of Capri. Last but not least something we do not talk much about Peacock Bass fishing was very good in the Golden Gate Canal System. We caught most all the fish on Fly in fact a couple of guys saw us catching them and wondered why they weren't. We showed them how small the flies were that they were taking and they were going to come back the next day with a Fly Rod. Anyhow to make a long story short Fishing was excellent.
