{%image_id=29216%} Its that time of year in Naples where the fishing conditions change for the better. The baitfish are easily netted and sometimes its hard to pick what to fish each day. In the backwaters redfish, snook, baby tarpon and sharks are all available. The beaches will have tarpon, bonita, kingfish and sharks following the southbound bait pods. The last two weeks the redfish have really shown up good in the backwaters. I have been fishing the Rookery and Johnson Bay areas on a good incoming tide. I really like the water high in the mangroves and chumming live pilchards really gets them going. Most trips we have been getting 10-16 reds between 20-26in. Mixed in with the reds are some big jacks and we have been catching some tarpon in the 10-40lb range on some shorelines.{%image_id=29214%} I really have not been targeting snook much this month, yet am getting 15-25 a trip. The fish in the backwaters have been in the 18-24in range mostly, but we did get this nice 12lb fish two days ago. {%image_id=29215%}
