Naples Fishing Report

It looks like we are finally going to warm up down here in Naples after a cold start to the year. The weather is suppose to be in the mid to upper 70's and lows close to 60. This should really help our fishery out. Lately I have been fishing soft plastics like the DOA Cal and Gulp Shrimp in deeper holes and on warmer days on the edges of flats. The trout bite has been pretty good if you can get the jig down past the ladyfish. I've been going to a 3/8oz jighead when they get to aggressive. The trout have been 14-19 inches with most inthe 16in range. Redfish have been hit and miss for me when fishing the Pathfinder, they seem to be feeding better on low water and I just can't get to them. In my Tailfisher 17 we have been doing very well sightfishing in skinny water. The reds have averaged 25" with some over 30" in less than 2ft of water. When the water has been in the upper 60's the snook have also been moving around in some of the shallow back bays. At night is still the best if you want to snook fish, they aren't as aggressive as normal, but they can be caught. Jerkbaits and Mirrodines have been getting the most strikes worked slow.
