Naples to Marco report Fished away from the norm the other day, instead of throwing the fly we tried our hand at Bait Fishing. Eventhough I was a little rusty I managed to cast net a full live well and off we went. The first stop was a flat outside a creek mouth that I new would have some Tarpon milling around on the last of the tide. Sure enough they were there and we were into one in short order. My angler was a little nervous at first with twenty or thirty Tarpon swimming around he missed the first five casts but he hit on the sixth. He threw the bait to a 100 plus pound fish but a 45 pounder scarfed it up to fast. 10 minutes and we released him we were off to catch the rest of the slam. The Snook were no problem on the White Bait we ended up with three over the legal limit and about fifteen more smaller one's. The Redfish eluded us even though we hooked three all of which pulled the hook before reaching the boat, Oh Well thats the breaks. Good Fishing Capt. Roan z.
