Fishng looks to cool down for next week with Cooler Temperatures. This week coming up should be an interesting week. The Weather reports are showing a cool down for this week. which should mean the Snook fishing will taper off some and the other species like Redfish and Trout might pick up a little. It just depends on how cool it gets and what the water temps do. It doesn't bother me I am ready fo a little cool down it seems weird catching live bait and fishing for Snook in the passes in the middle of winter. Inshore flyfishing for redfish has been good and with the water temps dropping might even get better. Been fishing to quite a number of tailers on the flats lately. Jigs tipped with shrimp still seems to be working and if we get some cooler water temps will probably be your best bet. I would look to the troughs that come off Flats in and around the Naples and Marco area. Offshore has seen good and bad days, Funny this year, whenever i talk to the offshore Captains, I always hear mixed reports. It seems everyday is a new adventure out their. One day it is on fire and the next day everything has went up in a puff of smoke. Still reports of trippletail and some Cobia on the Trap lines. Some Kings scattered around and lots of False Albacore on the Shrimpers which are working about twenty miles off Naples. Bottom fishing has been good overall with some descent grouper catches being reported on full day trips. Bass Fishing in the Glades has been ok this week. I fished with Jack Bass Allen the last couple of days and he tells me the fishing on his side of the alley has been pretty good. He has a couple of places that he has been fishing that are producing about 60 to 70 bass days with some nice 2 and 3 pounders taking popping bugs. Over hear the fishin has slowed a little but still catching some in the Faka Union Canals. I heard L28 not fishing very well yet. But water is dropping so it won't be long. Good luck and Good Fishing Roan z.
