Offshore Fishing Report

Ran out about 45 miles with some friends that were down for covering bait and gas on Monday to check out the offshore bite as the nearshore fishing has been a little slow the last couple of days. Started off drifting for grouper. Picked up 4 keepers in 3 drifts. While we drifting we picked up a few big Mangrove Snapper. We decided to start targeting the Mangrove Snapper, so we anchored over where we caught them on the drift and started chumming. Ended up catching several limits of Mangrove Snapper up to 19" as well as some Vermillion Snapper. Before we headed in we stopped at a wreck in about 75 FOW because one of the girls wanted to catch a Goliath Grouper. We dropped a line for the Goliath, but couldn't get one to bite...usually they are the easiest thing to catch! Even though we couldn't get the Goliath Grouper we were able to land several Amberjacks, Barracudas, and a big Cobia. It was a fun day with calm seas, good fishing, and great people.{%image_id=56909%}{%image_id=56910%}{%image_id=56911%}{%image_id=56912%}
