Thanksgiving Week Fishing Report

Fishing as well as the number of people down here has started to pick up. We had a couple good days for kings last week after thanksgiving. It was a little sporty as far as the sea conditions, but the kings were definitely biting. There was lots of bait (pilchards, blue runners, jacks) on the nearshore wrecks we were fishing, so we fished on the same structure where we caught our bait. Most of the Kings were caught on pilchards rigged with a 4/0 Circle hook and a 8-12" piece of wire. Mixed in with the kings there were also some large Bonita. We were also able to pull up a couple of Goliath Grouper for those that wanted to try in the same area we were catching the kings. Offshore from 45-65 feet we have been getting into some Mangrove Snapper and even a couple Mutton Snapper. No Keeper Gags the last few days; just some undersized fish. We brought up a black grouper the other day in relatively shallow water while we were targeting the gags. Fishing should continue to get better this week as we get into some stronger tides.{%image_i{%image_id=56810%}d=56805%}{%image_id=56806%}{%image_id=56807%}{%image_id=56808%}
