Trout and pompano in the back

Wow, these cold fronts sure do make it tough to get out! I have had to cancel 3 trips in the last week because of the cold. When I do go I have been targeting the good trout fishing in the bays, over grass. The bait of choice has been a 1/4 ounce jig with a red and white curly tail grub. The average fish are between 15 to 20 inches. The Pompano bite has been good as well. I have been having good luck with the smaller jigs in white and yellow, dressed with matching buck tail. Heres something thats been working for me as of late, thats worth a try in your area. Try casting right behind a passing boat as this seems to attract the pomps searching for stirred up crabs!! Good Luck and stay warm Capt. Pete
