Well, the cold seems to be over for now and the water temps are rising for the Naples and Marco area. February and March Fishing will pick up as long as we have No more cold. Not that fishing was all that bad throughout the cold spells. We were catching quite the number of Pompano and Trout all throughout the cold. The Snook Fishing was not so great but what can you do. The other species seemed to be plentiful like Ladyfish, Jacks and Sheepshead. It seemed just about any deeper channel near a flat had them and a shrimp tipped Surgical tube Jig they couldn't resist. Night time Fly fishing for Snook remained pretty good even though it was cold they still fed under the lights. Now that the water has risen back to about 70 degrees the Tarpon are even showing back up and the Big Marco Snook bit fairly well last night. We even caught one about 29 inches. Bass fishing in the Everglades is picking back up and should get stronger.
