If you read a couple of my past reports from this month I mention you don't have to come to Florida in the winter months to catch TROPHY BASS. Dan and Chris proved this the past two days fishing with me on the St Johns River only minutes from Orlando FL and Daytona Beach FL On Wed 5/26/2010 brothers Dan of OH and Bob of Tampa FL joined me for and eight hour artificial trip on the South St Johns River. The only bad thing I can say about the trip is the full moon has the fish biting better at mid day when the sun is the hottest. The morning bite was slow but between 11am and 2pm the big fish fired up and the bite became steady during this time. Dan caught a beautiful 9 1/4 pound St Johns Trophy casting a Bitters Bait and Tackle 7.5 Junebug Bluetail Worm on main River shellbeds.A total of 15 fish were caught with the best 5 weighing 28 to 30 pounds. On Thursday I had Chris from IL for a full day trip.Chris is an FLW College Bass Fisherman and I was highly impressed at his fishing skills.Almost a repeat of yesterday the big fish didn't bite until after lunch but Chris did catch quite a few smaller fish during the morning hours. After a nice lunch at Capt Jacks we headed south on the St Johns River and Chris began casting a Bitters Bait and Tackle 7.5 Junebug Bluetail Worm on main river shellbeds and it didn't take long for the big fish to hit.Chris was after a fish on this trip over 7.8 pounds as this was his biggest until I lipped his beautiful 9 pound St Johns River Trophy. Chris caught between 20/25 fish today with the best five about 23 pounds. I have plenty of days open and the big fish are biting well here on the St Johns River. Please call about my Freshwater/Saltwater two day combo special going on until July 1st 2010 Thanks From Capt Ed Bussard and Bass Challenger Guide Service Guiding Clients To Trophy Bass In Central Florida For Over 30 Years.
