The past few weeks have seen a big drop in the number of fishermen out on local lakes. Reason is that most have gone back home for the summer. Leaving these great big and beautiful lakes, quite alone. As always I look forward to when they come back for the fall and winter. It good to see old faces and to listen to some of their epicts over the summer, fishing on northern lakes and bays. Anyway back to our left alone lakes, Fishing has been very good. Bass love the quiet and have started to group more,as when I locate a good fish there is also more there visiting. Brim and shellcrackers were abundant as they are beding in about 3 ft of water. Great action on light tackle as we assaulted their territory. some of these babies were a pound or better. There are still good action and the full moon will help. Crappie fishermen are back out in the middle and around the fish attractors as well as the 28 marker. Still slow, but several have said they have caught a good mess for dinner. Nothing better in my book.
