Well, the summer tourist season is over, but that doesn't mean that the fishing is put on hold. Although I won't be out nearly as much as now, I am still planning some great trips for my clients and myself. The trout are still on the flats in the lower sound and lower parts of Escambia and Blackwater Bay, and while there have been some nice trout being caught, I'm seeing some decent reds in the mix. Spanish Mackerel are still all over Pensacola Bay and in the pass, and the skipjacks and bluefish are still around in good numbers. Pensacola Pass has been hit and miss for redfish, with most of them being slot fish. It's been unusually hot this past week and that has put the fish in a very early morning and very late evening bite. I'm really looking forward to some much cooler temps. These 95-degree days can end anytime! Well, the summer tourist season is over, but that doesn't mean that the fishing is put on hold.
