Mangrove snapper and spotted sea trout on the menu Went fishing this Saturday morning with fellow Disabled Veteran Daniel out in Pine Island Sound. Tried getting on the snook this morning but they seem to have lock jaw during our time in the mangroves so we moved on to the grass flats catching some more bait. While catching our bait we had Black tip, nurse and shovel head sharks all over the place. That told me all I needed to know about that area so we packed up and moved after catching our bait. We set up on another grass flat with a good outgoing tide and it was game on! In about an hours' time we caught more than our limit of snapper and started on the sea trout. The snappers were large and the trout were barely hitting the lower limit. All in all it was a great couple hours of fishing helping our Wounded Veterans. On another note: Please if you're out on your boat and see another boat catching fish it's not polite to encroach on them. Please stay off a couple hundred yards they will either invite you in or wave you off or no sign at all. Please be polite out on the water and everyone stay safe. Tight lines all! If you're ready to go fishing give me a call to plan your trip so we can try and catch the tides right. Captain Jim 719-331-3117
