I was Dreamin while my reel was screamin. Three trips this past week and the fishing became progressively better each trip. The water contrasts colors as the tide line is visible. Sand Trout on the sand bar breaks, Gray Snapper against the Mangrove overhang branches. Speckled Sea Trout were many but still fairly small as a summer catch. This year's crop is growing nicely. The ladyfish have been prolific just about everywhere, some are absolutely huge and a hand full at that. Some clients complaining of their wrists hurting after extended battles. Poor Babies. AND the sharks. The Atlantic Sharp Nose sharks are averaging around 3.5 feet per catch, usually three per day on cut ladyfish under a bobber on a 3' steel leader, 7/0 Gamakatsu Circle hook. I use them because they hold well in the fight but release easily preventing damage and further stress to these magnificent creatures. Our average catch each trip was around 100 fish per day but no giants with exception of the sharks. One Hit on my rod smoked the reel, striped 250 yards of 40-pound Power Pro braid and kept on going. It looked like a souped up Spinner shark to me. Hope he's ok with all that line dragging around behind him (or her) 😊 It took my Leader and new Captain Vic's Flat top popping cork too if you see it. Well, till Next Tide. Don't think fishing. Just think Tide Walker Charters. EVERY TRIP IS AN ADVENTURE {%image_id=60194%}
