John, Laura, Katie and little John met me at the dock at 10:00 this morning. We made a short idle to a nearby grass flat to try for some trout and spanish macks. The trout were popping all over the chum I threw out but only two keepers. We headed to the next spot where Little John hooked into a bonnet head shark but it pulled free from the hook. We headed north to Some islands in Matlacha pass that have been holding some nice reds and snook. I figured we would get a few more trout along with them but they had our number today. Laura had a huge snook bust her bait to put some excitement back in the air followed by a snook running Katie to the trees. We give it a little more time before heading to the last spot of the day where Laura got her first ever redfish.
