{%image_id=13184%}Fishing report for the week ending 12/13/09 It is two weeks to Christmas and we are fishing in shorts you have to love it! For you folks up north in the cold take note its time to come to Florida. Fishing has been great with cool nights and days in the low 80s, there are tons of small silversides in the bay and near the beaches that all the fish and birds are feasting on. This is something that in years past would happen for a couple of weeks in October and would be done with by now. Mackeral, Bluefish,Ladyfish and a few pompano are anywhere the bait can be found any kind of softbait on a jighead will work. There are a lot of schooling size trout with these fish but its hard to get past the faster fish to get to them. Snook and redfish were better closer to the last front with them getting lazy with some of these days later in the week, there is still plenty of bait available but I have found plugs, softbaits and cutbait work just as well if not better. The majority of these fish can be found in 3-6 ft of water, patchy grass bottom is best. Some of the cooler mornings with low tides have also been productive for nice seatrout and a few snook fishing potholes.{%image_id=13185%} Fishing with Todd Widom and Beth Eisenberg on Sunday we started the morning with mackeral, bluefish and ladyfish and then moved on to throwing topwater plugs for snook and trout in the 2-3 lb. range. Pictured are Todd with a snook and a couple of the seatrout he caught.{%image_id=13186%} Remember there is still plenty of time to give the perfect Christmas gift a charter for that special someone- Gift certificates available that can be used anytime of the year.
