{%image_id=64342%} The best bite of late has been in the inshore Gulf of Mexico. Large Spanish mackerel have moved in and are being caught within a couple miles from the beach. Trolling and free lining live baits worked best. The fish were not found feeding on the surface, so trolling and chumming over structure produced fish. Despite the water still being very warm, almost 80 degrees, king mackerel and false albacore showed up as well. The deep grass flats in Sarasota Bay are still producing action and variety for anglers casting jigs and live bait. A few snook and reds can be found under docks and shorelines in Robert's Bay.
