Report for Sebastian Florida

We've fished a few times since our last report. On every Indian River trip we've caught nice-sized pompano (17-19"), sea trout, silver trout (much larger than normal), and all the other usual suspects--with ladyfish being abundant and jack crevelles just about everywhere. Rick Pino and I will be going out again tomorrow, trying our luck in the Sebastian Inlet, searching out larger ocean jacks as well as redfish. Our final Florida charter will take place on Sunday, April 2, when Norwalker, Frank Chiaffello--who'll be visiting family in Melbourne--will be our sole passenger. Following that trip I'll be pulling the boat and getting it ready for seasonal storage. We'll be back in Connecticut on April 10, at which time we'll be prepping that boat for launching later in the month. I'm excited about getting back onto Long Island Sound, and from the reports coming in, it looks like the striped bass will play a major role in the local waters along the Connecticut shoreline. It seems that the Housatonic and Connecticut Rivers have been hospitable to stripers who've chosen to spend the winter in the Northeastern waters so we won't have to wait very long to see them coming over the side this spring.
