This fall has brought us some fantastic angling opportunities for redfish and trout. With the warm weather and plenty of bait, fishing has been more like catching here in St. Augustine. Every creek in the area has been holding redfish and trout, some creeks might hold smaller fish than others but there are plenty of fish none the less. Shrimp on a jig head has been my go to live bait in the creeks while soaking mullet at the inlets for trout, reds and flounder. My artificial lure arsenal has consisted of FishBites Extreme paddle tails on Slayer Inc. 1/4 oz. Jig heads. Casting around oyster beds has proved deadly for redfish while jigging around deeper creek bends pays off for trout. The Palm Coast area has also been producing some nice redfish up in the shallow mud flats. Live or cut mullet has been the best bait for redfish while live mullet around Matanzas can't be beat. Live shrimp on a Daiichi 1/0 circle hook fished along the ICW will produce some nice trout. {%image_id=17996%} {%image_id=17995%} {%image_id=17994%} {%image_id=17993%} {%image_id=17992%} {%image_id=17991%} {%image_id=17997%}
