Big Yellowfin on Kite Bite

Today we fished with Leif and his guest and we started the day catching a little bait for a kite fishing charter. We set up and quickly jumped off a sailfish in the first 15 minutes. After getting reset we had a big bite on the bow short kite bait. The fish dumped about 500 yds. of line and the steady off. We ended up spending 2 hours and 5 minutes on the fish before we were able to sink a gaff into the fish. {%image_id=38753%} {%image_id=38752%} {%image_id=38751%} In 35 years of being here, I have never caught a yellowfin tuna on a local day of fishing and we were fortunate to catch a 95 lb. yellowfin tuna today with Leif. He fought the fish on 20 lb. tackle and did one hell of a job landing the fish. After the battle we switched gears to bottom fishing where we broke off a grouper and caught a nice size genuine red snapper that we let go. We ran in and looked for cobia and hooked one but unfortunately pulled the fish off. Capt. Patrick Price www.daymakerfishing.com (772) 405-0091
