Bottom fishing remains the HOT Topic

Vermillion Snapper season just opened and they are biting. Grouper continue to pester us everywhere we go out of the St. Lucie Inlet. {%image_id=20193%}{%image_id=20191%}{%image_id=20192%} Big Genuine Snapper continue to be a rod bending by catch before release on Stuart Fl fishing charters. Amberjacks have invaded all the high relief in the area and are a blast on light jig rods or for the big dogs a large blue runner and a hammered drag. Permit and Cobia {%image_id=20194%} fishing continues to be hot and helping to fill the fish box. Saturday we caught 10 Cobia and Sunday we caught 7. {%image_id=20190%} Keeping only are limit of course. The Cobia have been scattered from Ft. Pierce to Jupiter Inlet along the beaches and most of our fish have been caught blind jigging on Inshore wrecks and artificial structure. Permit are being caught with regularity South of the St. Lucie Inlet along the beach and on the Sand Pile. Sharks have been a problem with landing them though. Dolphin fishing continues to be very slow since the west wind a week ago. Cold surface temperatures and inconsistent weather for this time of year I think is affecting the fishery. If the weather stays E/SE for any length of time look for this fishing to improve.
